Wandler is a contemporary leather goods brand founded in Amsterdam in 2017 by Dutch designer Elza Wandler. The brand specialises in high-quality leather bags, crafted in Italy using first-grade Italian calfskin leather.

The Designer

Elza Wandler was born in Limburg, the Netherlands, and studied fashion at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. After working for a major global fashion brand, she launched Wandler in late 2017, building the brand from scratch in two months. Her debut piece was the Hortensia bag, a rounded silhouette that identified a gap in the market and became the signature of the brand. Elza Wandler is a member of the Business of Fashion 500, the professional index of people shaping the global fashion industry.

The Brand

Wandler is defined by a clear design point of view: functional in structure, refined in shape, and rooted in a Dutch approach to design. The bags combine considered use of colour with clean, feminine silhouettes. Each bag is named after a person and designed to last investment pieces in Italian calf leather that improve with wear and age.

Every Wandler bag is designed in Amsterdam and produced at Pelletteria Graziella in Riviera del Brenta, Italy, a region celebrated for its heritage in fine leather craftsmanship. All leather is LWG certified.

THE FOUNDER

Elza Wandler launched her namesake brand in late 2017. Born in Limburg, Netherlands, she studied fashion at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. After having worked for a major global fashion brand she took her design, merchandising and branding experience to launch her namesake brand in 2017, built from scratch in just two months. Spotting a market gap for round bags, Wandler made her debut with the Hortensia bag. Elza is part of the “Business of Fashion 500”.
